Eel and starfish...do they mix?

I have a a chainlink eel that seems very tame. He has been in a 55 gallon with a humu trigger and a large coral banded shrimp. I am curious what you guys think about adding a star fish to help keep the sand bed clean. I want a chocolate chip star but if y'all have any other suggestions I would like to hear them. Thanks

I have had a Blue Linckia Sea Star in with my dragon eel and horned moray eel for about three months now and it is doing great they don't mess with him at all..

The eel seems to stay out of the shrimps way and when they get close, either the shrimp chases him away or he actually starts cleaning the eel's skin, even though he's not a cleaner shrimp.

I'd be more concerned about the trigger. Triggers tend to think those really are chocolate chips on the stars and may nip at them! :)

I still think at some point the shrimp will get eaten by either the trigger or the eel...My wife has a chainlink and the only crustacean she has been able to keep with it are hermits and large crabs (the eel is a juvenile so it might very well change)
