Eggs or Itch?

Could use some help on this one....
I have a 180g tank with live rock, fish, a few corals, and a large cleaning crew. I noticed white spots forming along the back of my aquarium a few days ago. Now they seems to be multiplying more rapidly. They are about the size of a grain of salt. Upon closer inspection it apears that there are tons of even smaller white things moving around the back of the aquarium, which leads me to believe that the larger white spots are egg colonies for these very small parasites. The fish in the aquarium seem fine, but I'm still worried... Is this how Itch starts?

Ich will not form on glass surfaces. What you're seeing is not a parasite.

My tank is all acrylic. Would it not be able to form on acrylic either?

you have pods. if the white specks are hard they are a small tube worm that grow in new tanks.

Are there any spots on your fish? The life cycle of Ich does drop off of your fish to reproduce. My fish had it once before when my tank was new, but I can't remember if I saw it off of my fish. Most treatments kill it when it is off of the fish in its reproductive stage.

The fish look great... but what concerns me are the even smaller white things I see moving all around the dots... I'm concerned the two are connected. There seems to be a lot of tiny things floating around in the water, about the size of the white things moving around on the back of the tank. Could these all be the same thing?

yo will only see ich on fish.

what you are seeing are pods and worms and are a good thing.

I think it's safe to say that the really small things are pods... but they are too small to even say they look like the pods in the pics of pods link above. The larger white spots are perfectly round.

Maybe small "starfish". I get them in my tank sometimes. Do they have "legs" coming off of them?

Good shot. I have those in my tank too. They grow bigger and get a thing coming out of the end of them that looks like a feather duster. They will cause no harm.
