eheim 1048 to output pipe fitting

I bought a 1048 and it comes with 2 output nozzle options. The one that goes to a hose barb and the second that can accept a pipe.

Could one put a PVC pipe into that and appropriately seal the connection so it would run without being submerged? Can you glue it? What glue would you recommend?

One is for 12/16 mm Eheim tubing, the other is for metric pvc pipe.
If you want to hard pipe it with standard PVC you'll need a 3/8" MPT fittings/pipe. HTH
