elagance coral

O.K. guys, I've had this elagance coral for 5 months. Expansion is good and it seems pretty healthy. I was just curios about what is normal for these corals. In most books I've read, these beautys have such long tentacles that you can barely see the main body of the coral. Mine has much shorter tentacles. Also I've been told to feed him with silversides, but any food I attemt to feed him just rolls off him to the sand below. Is this normal? Thanx.

When I feed my elegance I plop a nice fat chunk of shrimp right on its tentacles. I've noticed the day following a feeding its tentacles extend much further. Normally my elegance latches onto the shrimp with its tentacles. I also place multiple pieces of shrimp along the entire length of the coral seeing as how it has 8+ mouths.
