Electrical outlet question

The electrician is coming in two weeks to run a new 20 amp circuit to my fish tank location. It's a 180 so there is going to be lots of electrical things to plug in. Should I plan to have an outlet for everything to plug into or should I make use of the surge suppressor strips also?

I would consider a controller in which case you would not need a lot of plugs, but yes in answer to your question I would use surge suppressors. I would think a 4 gang box would be enough with the additional outlets from the surge protector.

I just built an aquarium room, and for electrical I ran two separate 20a circuits, each gfci protected, each with three outlets. So there are 12 gfci protected outlets in there. The overhead light, humidistat, and vent fan are in a separate 15a circuit. I usually opt for overkill though, I seriously doubt you need that many. I'm putting in a 190h.

I'm planning to use the Apex controller. As I recall it's powerstrip has eight outlets. I haven't figured out a lighting plan yet but I do think I'll be using T5's along with LED's. Do those get power from the Apex outlet box?

I'm having a second 20 amp line put into the fishroom as well. Over time I envision the power requirements in this room will increase. When you say each outlet is GFI protected does that mean you have a GFI at every outlet of just the first one in line?

Energy bar 8's, those are the power strips used with the apex. I also believe they have an EB4 model, but I've never actually seen an image of it. Welcome to the forum, BTW! Don't feel bad, I'm very new myself:-)

Thank you :-) I think, in my wife's mind, I already took up too much room, lol. Now I'm going to have to build her a new dining room table to make up for it!
