Electrical problem - lighting

Any electrical trouble shooters out there? I've got a 8 x 54 T5 retro lighting fixture that I'm just setting up. It has 2 switches/power cords and each one works fine individually. However, when I turn them both on together, it trips the GFI. They were working a few months ago when I first got it, but now that I have attached it to the canopy, the problem has developed. I figured that it was a loose wiring connection, but have checked all the connections and wrapped the wire nuts with electrical tape. Any suggestions?

Get rid of the GFI on the lighting. (that is the easy answer).

I bet the real problem has to do with a bad ground connection.

ELECTRIC..

ELECTRIC..

Sounds like you could be overloading you circiut. Try plugging in one line into your gfci and run a extension cord from another room to your other cord and see if you gfci trips again.
