Electricity problem

Okay so I need some advice, I just got a notice from my electric company saying that this tuesday the power will be out some or all day. Of course this has me worried about my tanks, not sure what I should do.

I thinking that at minimum the pumps need to be working, anything else I should worry about.

pumps are the main thing, heat source could be an issue depending on your ambient room temp during the power outage, and if your pumps generate enough heat for your tank or not and your home heating source, lights are not needed for a 1 day power outage

What size system are we talking about here? Wrap a big blanky all around the tank. Even under it, if you can. Buy some penn plax battery operated air pumps with the air stones (these are very cheap) noisy as hell tho. If you'll be around, move some water around with a big scoop... I just recently had the power out for 7 hours because hydro was replacing a bunch of my poles on my road last week.

A small power inverter would power all your pumps, maybe even lights if you get a big enough one.

I was thinking of a inverter as well, a friend of mine used to have one. I think he still has it, hopefully he does and i can just run the tanks on it. They aren't to big, ive got a 70 gal fowlr and a 28 nano, not much power.

Use the inverter. Get an extension cord to go from your vehicle where the inverter will be to your house. Then use a power strip or two to plug into the extension cord for the pumps and heater. I wouldn't worry about the lights unless you really think it is necessary.
