Electricity Revives Bali Coral Reefs

We've discussed this before, I think in this forum, and also in the Advanced Topics forum, as well as I'm sure some other stuff as well. The reality of the situation is that it's not feasible for our aquariums based on a lot of different levels, mineral concentrations, having electricity in our aquariums, etc.

Interesting idea for the oceans though.
 
I saw this article a few months back. It is really interesting, but you'll notice that this has no scientific review..none at all, the only attention it's getting is from the media. It makes one wonder if it actually does work as advertised
 
Heck, I've already done that with an old Rio powerhead. :) Didn't see much growth in my corals, but it stimulated me very much when I "discovered" it.

It is also being done in Saudi Arabia for a manmade island in the shape of a palm tree it is featured in Extreme Engineering, they did not have a reef to start only artificial structures.
