So I am watching the tank yesterday and the smaller of my two emerald crabs climbs out from his nook and sits on the highest point of the tallest rock in my scape and sticks his arm in a hole in the rock. I figured he smelled/saw something in there.....but then he was in the same position a cpl hours later so I poked him with my tongs and he didnt react, I picked him up and he was limp and dead....
I dont know if he knew his time was up and wanted to be king of the mountain before he died or what, but Ive never seen them come out in the open during the day like that, just to die.
Only thing I can think of is his normal nook is where one part of my BTA split moved to so maybe he got stung a bunch? He went out on top, either way.
