Emerald Crab missing legs

My emerald crab is missing legs (I believe 4, only legs and not claws), Will it regenerate its limbs? I've heard it does it when it molts
Just wondering how many molts it would take for the limbs to grow back, and how often does an emerald molt (Im not dosing iodine, and I use red sea coral pro salt)? Also, curious on the actual process going on with the regeneration of a limb if anybody knows what goes on there.

It should regenerate after a molt, but not if whatever attacked it is still around. This is a sign of predation. Can you take him out and put him in your fuge until he recovers?

I got him like this from the LFS, it was my fault really. I pointed out a crab that looked nice, and the person either ripped his legs off or gave me a different one. Unfortunately I noticed this when I got home...He is actually in my fuge right now, the only other things in there are some blue legged hermits, hopefully they get along. I assume they both will eat chaeto?

Emeralds will eat little bubble algae and finer filamentous algae, but I don't think they will eat chaeto. I doubt the hermits will either. They may clean the smaller filmy algae on the surface of the chaeto, though.

Keep an eye on him. I would take the hermits out, but that's just me.

Did they catch him with a net? If so, maybe the legs got caught in the net.

Either molted or died yesterday, can't tell. My other hermit crabs looked like they were eating it so Im going to assume it died...kind of a bummer, my params seem to be fine, it was eating well and acting normal. I did notice that the bottom of its body was slightly seperated from where it normally is, does that mean it was a molt? I still can't find the bugger...
