How many should I have in my 90 gallon reef tank? I currently have 2. Plus one fire shrimp, 1 sand sifting starfish, and 2 serpent stars. No hermit crabs or snails.
You should have as many as you like. I have 2 in a 90. What you should have is some snails. They are the heart of any clean up crew. Hermit crabs can be good too, you would need about 30 of them. The sand sifting starfish wasn't the best choice. a dozen nassarius snails would be better for the sand and live longer.
