Which one is better? I was planning on getting an emerald but then I saw the strawberry and now I'm not sure which to get.

From what I've read, they are fairly equivalent in terms of what they will do for/to your tank. It is just a matter of preference for how they look. I have not seen any info about which if these is more risky or anything of that sort. I was planning on picking up one of each of these guys as well next month.

I bought three emerald crabs for a 75 gallon tank.

A few months later, I'm down to one emerald crab. He killed the other two by flipping them over and pulling their legs off.

Is your rock work such that you have separate areas in your tank or are they all connected to make one area? I was hoping that having two separate rock "mounds" would possibly help keep the two apart. Maybe not?

I have three seperate rock mounds, and a few independent rocks.

When I had all three, they roamed the sand, the rocks, and ran along the glass. I've never really seen them restrict themself to one group of rocks.

My two roamed a lot until there was just one left. I had two. I thought my puffer ate it, but maybe it was my emerald. Though the emerald is now scared of the puffer, so

Personally, I love emeralds. But when it comes to aquarium crabs, they are hit or miss. You either get a really good one or one that is bad. Very few are in the middle.
