Empty 30 gallon...species tank?

invertaman

Hello,

I have an empty 30 gallon that I'm going to put in my living room for a "show" species tank. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should keep. I'm intersted in Cephalopods, mantis, sea horses, eels etc. or anything anyone can come up with. Thank you for reading! :)

You have several good ideas there. There are many possiblities.

When thinking of a species tank, you want to come up with something that, is different, unusual, or has some othe unique feature.

sea horses are popular, but often end up being 'boring' to some people, as they are not very active.

Cepalopods, are often very cryptic, and generally short lived.

It really should come down, to what speices really interests you, and you will enjoy having a tank with only it in it.

BTW, where in Indiana are you?

Im also from indy and have two 30 gallon tanks laying around...trying to decide what to do with them..

I guess a mantis would be fun.

I'm from Lawrenceburg Indiana, I was thinking a mantis at first but I heard they can and will shatter the glass if aggitated. If I were to go with a cephalopod or seahorses, what type are hardy and could live in my tank size?

They look cool. Could I keep them and sea horses together and maybe a peaceful small fish with them? like a scooter blenny, I never had one but I heard thry can be trained to take live foods. I also heard sea horses can too..is this true? what about a mandarin with seahorses in a 30

I would do a LPS/Softy tank with a small species of frogfish. They are very cool looking fish and hardy too.

I'm thinking 2 or 3 seahorses, a mandarin or scooter blenny, and an arrow crab w/ a few inverts. I will post pics
