encrusting coral

I stopped by Aquarium Concepts today and it reminded me that I never saw one of their corals outside their shop. It is in the old tank that was Jessies dad's. It is the large encrusting coral that is on the upper right. It looks like sponge almost. It encrusts a whole rock plus more and it has soft bumps that never quite become fingers. I think it is lt blue or peach colored. My color memory sucks. Does anyone know what it is? It still looks good in spite of the recent red slime attack.

i think that coral is a type of heliopora .....a " blue ridge" coral possiably a H. coerulea
they have had it there for a long long time

Thanks Charlie,

That is it. I think it is the only one I have seen. If they frag it I will be there for a piece. :)

Charlie, How is your tank doing? Is it coloring back up? Did the bare bottom get rid of the hair algae?

I guess I just hijacked my own thread. hahahaha

got rid of the hair algae Russ.....but 80% of the corals are pale in comparison as to what they use to look like

i have tried everything from zeovit addatives (AAHC to the coral vitalizer) and curently experimenting with Prodibio

added more fish and feed heavy but just cant get the previous colors back

thinking i will probably add sand back in next month (DOH!!!)
