Encrusting reverse superman montipora spreading but no polyp extension

Hi all, I have a nano 10 gallon and am new to saltwater. I have a small frag of reverse superman montipora that I have never seen the polyps of any kind extending since I've had it for (~3 months about a month after I started the tank). It was about the size of a penny when I got it and it recently started spreading with a new light about two weeks ago. But no polyps still. It looks almost like a strawberry but with tiny pinholes where I assume the polyps should be coming out. It was a darker almost maroon red and now is sort of a light pink.

I'm sure it's unhappy but even if I don't see polyps does the growth mean it is doing ok? All my other beginner corals have done well (softies).

I would take a picture but the tank actually lives at my mother-in-law's place.

thanks

My Reverse Superman is dark maroon in areas that dont get enough light and is brighter red when it gets enough light. If it has color, it is alive. Sometimes those little blue polyps are hard to see. Out of curiosity, how is your phosphate?
Cheers! Mark

Thanks Mark, my phosphates are unknown right now as I'm waiting on getting an API test kit. I don't have the best eyesight but from the pics I see I think I should be able to see them like little florets, no? They literally look like pinholes. I'll assume they are alive. I'll try to post a pic this weekend.

I found my api phosphate test to be useless. I havent used it in a long time but as I recall it only went down to .2
Cheers! Mark
