Engineer Goby reef sefe???

I was looking at them too instead of an eel, but read that they move a lot of sand(and IMO aren't that attractive) I got a ghost eel instead and I love it! I have it witha CBS, pepermint shrimp, skunk cleaner and blood cleaner and havent had any problems...

I never had a problem when I had one with shrimp (CB and even a large pistol). They are attractive as adults, I think, more so than juveniles. Not sure about how much sand they move, as mine was in a BB tank.

they move alot of sand....would make sure all your rock work is secure as I had one who brought down a wall of rocks by diging under the rock work.

My Engineer has never eaten a shrimp. However he has messed with my Brittle and Serpent Stars. Also burried my coral and clams.

Engineers are pretty when adults. I agree they move ALOT of sand and my actually killed my clam also by piling sand on it while I was on vacation. Although it was my fault because I should have known not to have the clam where it was at because the goby would get it with sand. He has never bothered any inverts, corals, stars.

how old is ???

that`s beautiful I really love this goby,I don`t` have sand I use crushed coral do u think that I will have a problem??? I have a crocea clam what that I should do with the clam......

thanks a lot for u help

I think he is about 4 years old. Well if you do nto have sand then the clam should be fine. Mine just seems to bury the corals under sand. So now I have to make sure everything is on the rocks.

We used to have a spawning pair in the display tank at the LFS I worked at in high school. If I remember right, they never bothered shrimp but small thin bodied fish like firefish and gobies often disappered.
