Enlay Ozone users

I just got one of these units and was just wondering the setup on them. It came with just tubes and diffusser stones. Do I just plug the tube into the outlet and the other end into the stone and throw it into my sump? I tried this and turned it on and immediately smelled something funny. I have bought a controller for this just haven't gotten it yet. Please just let me know if the setup is correct when the controller does come...

First off the The Ozone Unit Run Into your Skimmer if Possible thru the Air feed.. No stones needed... Also You need to Run Carbon as well while you are running Ozone... Do yourself and Livestock a favor and Extensively research Ozone in general before attempting to run it... Its definetly not something to Toy around with..

i was running my enaly unit into my skimmer but have changed it to run into a ozone reactor, this way i dont get any fluctuations from the ozone being turned on and off via the controller.

when you say run carbon do you mean through a reactor or through the unit some how? Also the enlay has an output and and input, do I put a tube or anything on the inlet side? I can try to run it into my skimmer but i really don't know tat much about ozone, so how dangerous is it and can you link me to some good info on it.. Thanks

As for how Dangerous it is.. Well you can kill your tank and make yourself pretty sick if you dont know what your doing...

The outlet goes to the Skimmer... The Inlet should in theory be hooked to an Air Drier such as the REd Sea unit...

Ozone Is harmful to pumps, Plastics, Acrylic and Seals as well as many other things...

As for the Carbon If running it thru your skimmer you would want the Carbon on the water retun line on the Skimmer... O3 produces Bromide bleach and will cause real harm without good precautions...

I have an ASM g3 skimmer I guess I could put a bag of carbon in the tube where the water come out of?

That sounds like It would work... However with ASMs using Cheaper Materials I would contact them about running it with Ozone... It would be a bummer if the O3 burnt right thru your skimmer... There Is always the O3 reactor though from Coralife... Pretty much the O3 treated water must pass thru Carbon... In Larger tanks people can just get away with just running carbon as they normally do in Reactors and such..

I have read on many threads that the G3 is ok to use ozone with. Check asmskimmer.com . I am planning to use it with mine in a few weeks.
