Enough Lighting or too much??

I've got a 30 gallon sump that I want to use partly as a frag tank for my zoanthid frags. I built a 12"x8" egg crate tray and have it set up about 5 inches from the surface of the water. If I use a single 24 watt PC bulb and put it across the width of the tank will that be enough lighting for Zoanthids only?? The light will sit about 6-7 inches from the surface of the water. My sump is pretty tight so I only have room the tray that is 8 inches wide.

different types/colors of zoa have different light needs. I said these because i got nice/colorful zoa thriving at the top of my reef with t5 and also at the bottom. i would say experiment and move them around a little until you think they're happy with their placement.

I would think they would be ok, but as ollief said you should just move them around and see how the react.

Well I've had about 2 dozen zoa frags and 3 mushroom frags under the light for 48 hours now and they all are fully opened and seem to be doing really well. They are under the light for 16 hours per day.

seems like a long time to leave the lights on. Might cause issues with algae growth in the sump.definately do not need them on that long
