Thanks in advance!

Not a clue what that is. The bright colors makes me warry though, definately find out in advance before you attempt to touch it, or dont touch it!

he has pretty much stuck to the side of the sump. its a snail i know but what kind i dont know. It cleans the walls of the sump!

Im suspecting the colors will have something to do with its habitat, possibly a sponge eater? Or obligate feeder of flame scallops

Small Snail

Small Snail

from the Reef Aquarium Vol.2 "The ovulid snail,Diminovula (alabaster?),feed on Dendronephthya and is occasionally found on newly imported colonies. In the natural environment how destuctive these are is not known.Left in the aquarium,They typically consume the tissue of Dendronephthya very rapidly"

I.E. chuck it.

Paul, looking good!

Hey, just wondering... your skimmer looks like it is running way too wet. That stuff in the collection cup should almost be a black sludge, but perhaps I am looking at it wrong?

Thanks mike, i had just got done installing it and forgot to turn down the air control prior to plugging it in and whala....mount saint helens in my sump. its goin great now...its all nasty and slugy.

ED, sorry, never got the info. That would explain why my Carnation is DEAD. Lisa is pist....oh well i guess that is the nature of the beast.

Thanks for the info!

From my understanding, Dendronephthya is rather difficult to raise, especially in a newly established tank. I imagine that coupled with a snail eating it, was the 'ol one two. I was hoping for the best, but when I saw it the other night it showed signs of bleaching and decay. I am sorry to hear it did not make it.

How is the clam doing?

so far when i see things that look pretty scary and shouldn't be in the tank... i get my tweezers and pull them suckers out and out the backyard they go into the road ;)
