Equipment for 210

Well im piecing together the equipment for my 210. So far I got the MRC MR2 skimmer.

Now I found a great deal on the lighting system, 72" 1134w system it has 3 250w MH and 4 96w compacts, and 8 moon lights. I was going to do a FOWLR tank, but now I guess im going to do some corals as well.

What return pumps do you guys use on your big tanks and what do you recommend?

I need to get in touch with Manny on the sump part.

Dart or any sequence pump are always recommended if you're looking for more flow. Eheim 1262 would be nice for just a simple return, not a ton of flow though.

Get the most energy efficient one that meets your needs. A ~200w pump that runs 24/7 will cost almost as much to run as lighting. Scary, but true.

Sequence pumps (Dart, 4200, etc.) pretty much rule as high flow, high-efficiency pumps, but require large diameter plumbing. You also have to decide if you want to run high flow through your sump, or use other means to generate in tank flow. You could go with a lower flow pump that's pressure rated, use smaller pvc and some eductors, maybe even with an OceansMotions. Or, maybe a smaller pump (non-pressure rated) and other pumps/powerheads for more in tank flow. Tunze Streams w/a controller are VERY nice.

Ah, the fun of planning a new tank.... :D :D

would i be able to run 2 ehiem pumps 1 for each over flow?

reefsahoy thanks for the offer but 300w is too high for me. Looking for something more energy efficient

not to step on toes but i have sequence barracuda, for $100 exactly what i payed for. i dont need its too big for my 120.
