Establishing a Good pair?

I think i've decided to go with a pair of black ocs. Should I get them from the same source or different sources for "a better blood line" My LFS sells the ORA black Ocs and I know a guy that breeds them, should I get one from each source or both from the same source or does it matter?
Thanks John

Widely divergent sources couldn't hurt, even though I understand pretty much all of them in North America have all come from a handful of specimens collected in AU and bred by ORA.

If ORA got their stock directly from AU, then there are probably at least two strains in North America. Quality Marine (a major nationwide wholesaler) gets all their black ocellaris from TMC in England. I believe TMC started out with wild caught fish as well. Here in California, the first black ocellaris I saw were from QM.
FWIW: LiveAquaria black ocellaris are from QM (and thus TMC)

Good luck with the Black Ocellaris. I have been breeding them for about 7 months with very good results :) breeding and selling.

jacob30,
that's the thing i needed to hear

i know my LFS gets theirs from ORA but i'll find out about the other place

I've been breeding them for a couple of months as well, selling them will NOT be a problem.

oama would probably know better than anyone regarding lineage.
