I am ready to place an order for Lalo Live Rock. Unfortunately, it appears to be out of stock according to your website.

Any idea when the Lalo Live Rock might be available for purchase again?

Thank you.

Sirjohn,

We received the Lalo Live Rock and it is now available on our Website. I am sure you will enjoy this personally selected rock for its diversity in color and marine life.

Just placed an order for 4 boxes for delivery tomorrow, Saturday the 18th. Thank you.

I did forget to make a note in the Order Notes box that I would like to receive all medium to large rocks, as per the description on your website. I really do not want one large 30 lb rock (or go through the trouble of breaking it) or, say, 15 small rocks in a box.

Could you please look into my order and see what you can do? I will PM you my order information.

Thank you.

Dear Juan,

The Select Lalo Live Rock on our site is shipped with both medium and large pieces of the live rock. The average size of each rock varies between 5 to 12 inches. We have contacted our holding facility regarding the rock size, and the sizes we have listed for the Select Lalo Live Rock are accurate.

If you have further questions or concerns please contact us.

Thank you for your reply. I received the shipment of 4 boxes and overall the rock looks very nice.

Unfortunately, with respect to 2 of the 4 shipments, it was just as I feared. In shipment #1, I received a very, very large, flat rock, that weighs around 25 lbs, and measures over 20" long and a smaller 5 lb rock (the very large rock easily covers the entire bottom of a 30 gallon brute trash can I'm using to cure). In shipment #2, I received a very large rock, weighing around 20 lbs and measuring 18" or so across, and 2 smaller rocks weighing around 5 lbs each.

The rocks in shipments #3 and #4 are the perfect shape, ranging 5" to 12" as advertised. I am very satisfied with these shipments.

However, I am obviously not satisfied with shipments #1 and #2. The predominant rock in each shipment is simply way too large to use in my 92 gallon aquarium; in fact I'm sure the rock will even fit in my tank without covering most of the bottom. The rock in shipment #2, while not quite as large, is also too large to use in a 92 gallon. Both rocks are, of course, way, way larger than the 5" to 12" size advertised in your website.

As I mentioned before the rocks were shipped, I did not want to attempt to break the rocks with a hammer and chisel. They are both very large rocks, as I mentioned, and not only will it be very difficult to break them (they are mostly flat, thick and round), but I am afraid I will create several small, useless rocks or ruble. The price per 30 lbs box of this premium rock is not cheap, and I do not want to end up paying for 10 lbs or more of useless small rocks and ruble.

Please contact me to try and resolve this issue. All of the rock is curing at the moment, but once cured I will be more than happy to send you a picture of the very large rocks I mention above.

Thank you.

Sirjohn,

Thank you for your post. We are sorry that two of the boxes of Lalo Rock had pieces that were too large for your aquarium. The larger pieces, such as you received, are not the average size. However, it will depend on the availability at the time of the order. Per our phone conversation, we have documented your order regarding the sizing problems. Please contact us to let us know if you were able to break up the rocks and if necessary we can compensate you for any rubble. Otherwise, we can issue a Call Tag to get the two boxes back and send out two new boxes. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to assist you as your satisfaction with any order is important to us.

If we can be of any additional assistance, please feel free to contact our LiveAquaria Department at 1-800-334-3699 or via email at customerservice@liveaquaria.com and we will be happy to answer any question(s) you may have.

Thank you for the phone call and the quick reply to this post Gwen...and on a Sunday evening too. As always, DFS/LA's customer service is unmatched.

As agreed, once the large rocks are cured I will attempt to break the large rocks with a hammer and chisel. If the large rocks split into a significant amount of rubble and/or small rocks, I'll contact you to see about getting some replacement rock or other compensation.

Thanks again.

Good news. I was able to use both of the very large rocks I received as a base to anchor the rest of the rocks. It wasn't easy getting them in, but they are in. In case someone is interested, here is a shot of the rock I received in my tank (after 1 week of curing in brute trash cans):

The giant rocks are being used as the base, so it's hard to see them!

Overall, I love the rock. A lot of the different color coraline receeded during curing, but I understand that it will come back with the proper water parameters, correct?

Thanks again for your excellent customer service.

sirjohn,

Thank you for contacting us. We are glad to hear you are pleased with the live rock. The picture of your aquascape looks amazing. Coralline algae does recede when the live rock is curing. Once the rock is cured it will come back. Thank you for the wonderful compliments about our staff. We pride ourselves in 100% customer satisfaction.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at 1-800-334-3699. Good luck with your new aquarium.
