i have a chance to buy one for $50 no pump says skimmer is 7 years old.probally dumb question is it a good buy even if i have to buy a pump for it.

i would say yes what pump does it recomend sedra 5000? if so can pick one up on ebay new for around 80 to 90- bucks

I use that skimmer and it works very well on a 125g with refug and sump.$50 is a good price if you don't buy it I would be interested.The cs6-2 had a sedra 3500 my skimmer has a 5000 but I have been thinking about changing to sicce pump.
An excellent pump for that skimmer would be a sicce psk 2500 very good SCFM 30-50 at low wattage 17 - 30w with the mesh mod.Here is a good deal on one with a pinwheel,mesh mod kit and venturi for $109.99
