Randy Holmes-Farley Reef Chemist Premium Member Mar 10, 2006 #4 0.01 would be from 1.024 to 1.034? Yes, that is excessive. Loosing 2% in water volume (2 gallons in a 100 gallon tank) will not change salinity in a way that hurts anything.
