I'm beginning the process of upgrading and currently planning the stand. My Dad, who is retired and looking for a project, and a fantastic wood-worker, has agreed to make me the stand and canopy for it with some black walnut that he has!!
Being an engineer (no offense to you guys) he of course wants to have everything down to the gnats *** ..... and is already concerned about the exact fit of the trim on the stand to the glass and bottom rim!
Since I don't have the tank yet, the closest dimension I can give him is the 72" length .... if this tank is typical, however, I'm guessing that the 72" is the outside dimensions of the glass .... and the outside dimesnions including the bottom rim will be 72 1/2". I'm not ordering the tank in until we have the frame of the stand ready to set the tank on so as to only move it once, so I will not be able to measure for him and the LFS can only give me the 72" too .....
Would somebody that has this tank be so kind as to verify the "exact" dimensions of the tank including rim?!
