I went to my favorite local Saltwater/Reef store yesterday and pick up some really cool stuff. Kurt and Jimmy have gone a long way since I was there last. There selection has trippled and they even have frags available for purchase. I was simply amazed and came home with a ton of live goodies. I was amazed that they are offering CMAS discounts too, which made the things a little easier on the wallet. If you guys and gals have not been out to Exotic Aquatics in Highland Indiana, you should make the trip out there. You will be supprised on what they have done in such a short period of time. I will have to say I will be going back soon when I get more $ to get some of the killer aussie micros they had. Thanks Kurt and Jimmy for taking the time and staying with me while I picked out my sellection of healthy goodies.

I will post some pics soon of what I picked up.

Yes, PICS please!

I'm glad to hear that EA is giving CMAS discounts since they're giving discounts to NWIMAC.

These are some of the things I came home with after discount I save more than $30.

JR, they were probably giving you the discount of the NWIMAC. I had mentioned your name when at the club meeting. Unless of course they told you they were giving you the CMAS discount.

okie dokie

I heard you took the small elegance. (again the one I wanted)LOL
hows it doing?

Its doing great. I had it in too much flow at first, but took care of that. I fed it last night and it responded well to the feeding. I am also having trouble finding a place for my duncan that isnt gonna blast it everywhere.

I'm glad to hear that Kurt and Jimmy are giving discounts to both CMAS and NWIMAC. not that it really matters for me, as I'd get the discount either way, but its just a good business decision for them.

it would be bad business practice for a store to give discounts to one club and to shun another club, especially if they give discounts to a local club that has only 25 members while refusing to give discounts to a club that has 500 members, the majority of whom have plenty of good stores in their area, and for whom a trip to EA represents a totally discretionary money spending event.

the 500 member club from out of state represents incremental sales that the store would not have otherwise. a well run store would try to foster interest by high end customers who are willing to travel to spend their money, rather than ignoring them or driving them away.

i applaud Kurt and Jimmy for making a sound business decision. as shown in JR's EA discount thread in the CMAS forum, the CMAS discount announcement is already drawing interest in their store from people who live out of state and are willing to travel to a good store that provides discounts to club members. if the discount policy drives more business to their store, it benefits everyone. the store makes more money, the store can reinvest that money in inventory, and we benefit from progressively better and better options in our area. its a win-win situation for everyone. good show!

BTW JR -- thanks for the link. i didn't know about the web site.
