anyone tak wth john lately.. i am trying to get some replacement frags from him... i now he has been busy...

I talked with him a few weeks ago and he was very busy with family. Shoot him another email. He has been tied up lately, but he will respond.
 
Tell yah one thing, he doesn't exactly visit this forum much ;) Email is the best means of communications with him. If he has time for you, he'll respond. FWIW< if I see him on my rounds tomorrow, I'll have him drop by here :D
 
do me a favour.. ask him to call me he has been emailed several times.. i am getting a little concerned that he is blowing me off.. although my impression of him as well as what i can discern from here on the net.. is that he is a good guy....

i am looking to replace some frags i got from him a couple of months ago.. he knows the situation..

There must be something going on, their forum on here has been locked for some reason. Their website doesn't look like it has been updated in a while either.
 
He's just very busy with family to my understanding also. Give him a little time. A great guy to deal with so you shouldn't have any worries.
 
Will do. I can 1000% tell yah he is not avoiding you and will make good. He's been very busy in the last year with his family, like several have posted.

He's about the most stand up guy I've run across in the reefing scene/MO industry.

x100. Yeah, I haven't heard from him since about a week and a half. Typcially, we communicate almost daily. He actually left the country for a month or two due to an emergency. Prior to said emergency, he was knee deep in work. Which was waiting for him upon his return.

During said absence, the BA got hit with an unprecendented heat wave. I know he lost some corals, but he still has some around, and can get others.

I think the forum is locked because John had to pull his sponsorship for the time being. He wasn't going to update his site until te weather cooled down. He had a high mortality for frag shipments because if the unusual summer heat.
 
yeah .. i know what you mean.. i was a big order that lost about 10 out of 13 or so.. thanks for the reassurance as i thought he seemed to be a stand up guy .. and i am pretty good at reading people.

thanks for the info...i will send him anther email.. although i bet he hasnt gotten the last 10 or so i sent him..

Things have been really hectic for John, lately. Like everyone else mentioned, you'd be hard pressed to find a better guy to deal. The timing is just really bad.

There will be some big changes for ExotcReefs. Eddie Hanson is back in the Bay Area, and possibly might be opening up another store. I believe John will be partnering up with Eddie to help manage the website and all its orders.

Not only is timing really bad, several of ER's most prolific farmers have suffered some setbacks (understatement).

Let's see Hugo's tank crashed. Another prolific BA farmer took down one of his tanks. My buddy took down his 240g, because he thought he was going to move. I moved and am transitioning to another tank, so my own corals are struggling, and I have had zero backup capabilities for other reefers right now.

Karl, needless to say, I'm going to miss hanging with you at the frag swap.
 
yep ... big order and only about 3 or 4 made it.. lets just put it this way.... LOL> lot of cash to jump start my tank over... my tank had got hit with stn after years of going well... then i do the frag order with john.. and i am feeling great .. then the heat wave and the frag order... next day.. gone..

john and i work out things and then he has set backs... and so the story continues... he seems to be a nice guy and the comments here are reassuring ...

so as they say one must be patient and lets face it.. in the reef hobby.. you must be for many other reasones...

if fact its funny but i was talking to john about sending a buch of frags to him to get ride of. local guy menard has moved out of the business..

I thought I remembered Menard posting that you had some of the Tyree efflo. Was this lost in your RTN incident?
 
was going to frag some last weekend.. but had power outage problems... planning on fraggiing it this weekend..

frag swap?
 
John and I have been speaking the last couple of days and spoke to him this morning, but he has really been very busy. He just hasnt gotten back to you due to time. I dont think reefs is his priority at this time but he is a great guy to deal with.
I am sure he will take care of you when he gets the chance.

eddie and john teaming up for a BA store makes me very happy. john has great corals and is a really stand up guy. eddie and lance at TP are the reasons why i really got into the hobby-- they were very helpful and always took the time to talk to me when i was a newbie.

Jason, I think he does check his email, just not RC. He just takes a while to get back to responding due to such a hectic daily life.

I will let him know the next time he calls or when I call him.
