This species can be pretty challenging. Typically they are collected at greater depths than many species and as such can have decomp. issues.
Fish Base states:
Marine; reef-associated; depth range 18 - 80 m (Ref. 9710), usually 35 - 70 m (Ref. 27115)
These guys are typically a shy fish that will require a good sand bed and plenty of places to hide. Also, many specimens will not readily adapt to brighter reef lighting. Once situated in an aquarium they can become quite hardy, but getting a properly collected specimen is key. Another thing to note is that they WILL jump and larger fish will intimidate them into hiding/jumping.
