expired MelaFix?

Anyone know for a fact if using expired MelaFix could cause fish death?

Bottle was sealed until use was started. Expiration was in February 2006.

Please just don't state the obvious as it is a possibility.

I don't know .. its just oil from a Tea Tree and doubt it does much fresh or stale.
