Extruded acrylic OK for sump baffles?

I'm getting an acrylic sump from glasscages and want to make my own baffles to save money. Is extruded OK for the baffles? I already have some laying around, so it would be nice to use it.

Sure, why not? Extruded is fine for non-pressure applications. I've seen a lot sumps made of extruded.

Blue film & their prices? I've got $20 that says the sump from GC is extruded (which is just fine for a non-display item).

Tank you. Just making sure it was ok. And I think you may be right about their tanks being extruded, the brown covering is used on cast acrylic isn't it?

Generally - but I just got some cast today that is covered in clear plastic  so go figure.....but yes, you'll be fine

I've got some 1/4" extruded that's covered in that brown paper covering. So, I wouldn't really count on the type of protective covering to tell whether the acrylic is cast or extruded.
