Fadding GSP

My GSP are not green anymore. They are a tan colour. They were 6 inches from the top of the tank with a 250w MH pendent. Anyone know whats going on?

old off spectrum bulbs. put them under a new bulb of the proper spectrum and they'll green back up.

what is the proper spectrum? its under a DE 13, 000K Giesemann Megachrome bulb

I've never used the Giesemann in anything but T5 so i can't speak for their MHs but I've had excellent color out of GSPs under XM, Ushio, Radium, & Hamilton bulbs from 10-20 kk, I've had them turn brown under NEW CoralVue (10, 14 and 20 kk lamps) and very old URI VHOs but they quickly color back up once put under good lighting.

My gsp is insane under a 150w DE Giesemann 20k megachrome. I keep it at the bottom of the tank approx 20" from the uv plate on my fixture. I find the Giesemann to be extremely intense, you may have it too close to the bulb.

i placed it on sandbed and its still the same colour

it's not gonna change color overnight simply because you moved it...........

My gsp's go through "angry" phases sometimes... they will fade a bit for a couple days, with no warning, and no noticeable reason, I won't do anything, and then they'll color back up on their own a few days later... weird...

then your lighting is less then desirable to them.
