Faded White Spots on Blue Cheek Trigger

I have noticed that my Blue Cheek Trigger has a couple of faded white spots located on its dorsal fin towards the head and on one cheek. All spots are pretty small in size and doesn't appear to look like ich but I could be wrong. I have not found any of these spots on any of the other fish within the tank, but the trigger was just purchased and added to the tank today.

The trigger is actively swimming around the tank, using all fins, and appears to be breathing normally. I'm thinking it's a fungus, but I'm not experienced enough to be sure.

Any information, thoughts, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Fin Spots

Fin Spots

We spoke to a person in our local reef store and they suggested we treat for Ick, which we did today. That took care of the spots that were located on his cheek. However, there are still some questionable spots on the dorsal fin and the right side fin. I have attached three pictures.

Any thoughts, suggestions, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Also he's been swimming pretty erratically, swimming in front of the power heads and obviously irritated by whatever is on its fins.

I really can't tell much from the pic. The dorsal spots could be signs of a few things. Ich looks like grains of salt and fish often rub on anything available. Fish with parasites will often hang out in areas with a lot of flow to get the oxygen. I'd Google "marine ich" (images) and compare pics; the fish you see will be heavily infected with ich; but just compare the spots.
How are you treating the trigger?

Sorry about the pics, its hard to get clear ones since the triggs dorsal is always moving. the more i look at it the less it looks like ich, i started using kickich yesterday. it almost looks like fungus but theres no fluffy spots it just looks like the fin is discolered like the color of the fin faded in those spots. sorry for the lack of clear pics and thanks for the help

Hi Krispi toast,

If it ain't fuzzy, it ain't fungus. Fungus infections are rare in fish and usually the result of a secondary infection. Bacterial infections are much more common, but I can't tell from the pic.Kick-Ich won't kick anything. Any product that claims to be a reef-safe ich cure is simply not effective. The only ways to cure ich are tank-transfer, copper, or hypo. All need to be done in a HT/QT. Please keep us posted, if this ich (or similar parasite) I think you're going to need some help with it.

Now after looking and numerous pictures of ich and staring at my trigg for hours I'm almost certain it's not ich, so bacterial infection seems more likely. No I didn't QT him but now I learned my lesson. Thanks again
