Fallow and preventing accidentaly reintroducing ick!

This is my first time in 16 years dealing with marine ick. I have learned my lesson and will quarantine all new fish.I will most likely even adopt some new means of bringing over snails, crabs, etc. I certainly do not want to do this again. Which leads me to the following question(s):

  • What measures or steps do you take to keep from bringing ick over on hyrdrometers, specimen containers, nets, etc.?
  • Do you have equipment set aside soley for your QT/HT?
  • Do you sterilize, bleach, etc. equipment that is used for your DT and QT/HT?
  • What is your standard practice for dealing with issues like this?
  • Is there a bigger concern with bringing cupramine / medication / etc. over to your DT over keeping ick going?

I recommend not sharing equipment across tanks. I have multiple tanks and each has its own equipment (not refractometer, however): nets, or anything that can get wet.
