I have a pair of false percula clown fish, can I add a maroon clown fish in the scenario?

I have a 65 gal tank, if yes .. is it better to add a pair or a single maroon clown fish?

Do not even attempt to add a Maroon clown with any other clowns. The maroon will rip them apart. It is not a good idea to mix clowns even in large systems.

I know conventional wisdom would dictate you should not do it...

However it can be done...I do not know what your "skill" level or experience with marine fish is so I am not reccomending it, again though it is very possible through careful observation and most importantly consideraation of intra specific personalities, good luck whatever you choose...

I'd definately not recommend this. Mixing clowns is very hit or miss, maroons are the most aggressive of the clownfish species, 65 gal is just too small, and finally you are still a beginner. These factors all suggest that there is little possibility of success in this endeavor.

Thanks for coming here to do some research first. It almost certainly saved you a lot of trouble and probably the life of a fish as well.

i just took my maroon pair from my 90 gallon, and my percula pair from my 20 gallon and added them both to my new 180 tank, and there was no prob. my female maroon found the percs and the female perc just shaked and twitched and the maroon went on her way. but i do think the size of the tank makes a difference, if there is enough room for them both to have their own territories, and not be in each others face perhaps that helps the situation. but i havent had a prob w/mine.
