Fang blenny vs snails?

I have a small canary blenny and really like him. The only problem I have is he tends to nip at nasarius snails during feeding time. I put about 15 snails into the 90 gal tank. Initially during feeding they would all come out of the sand looking for food. After several weeks I have noticed fewer and fewer until now none came out at feeding time. At night I can find a few with a flashlight out feeding. I was wondering if the blenny's bite is killing the snails. He is a curious little fish and does not eat them just nips them and they roll over then crawl off when the coast is clear. Perhaps they die later from the venom.
