Fans in canopy....

Is thier a cheaper way to put fans in than spending $30 per fan for the coralife brand? If so, how did you do it?

Get some case fans from any computer shop and then a 12v ac adapter that has enough amperage to supply the fan. Cut the wire on each and tie them together. I bought (3) 4" case fans and found an old AC adapter that was 12v 1.6 amps. Each fan need .4 amps and so I was able to run all three fans on one adapter and connected them using wire connectors from Radio Shack to make it easy to disconnect (if needed). Make sure the adapter has enough power (amps or miliamps) to supply the fan

Take a look at my thread from a few months ago...

I went with top-shelf fans because I wanted to maximize the CFM while keeping it quiet, and these have a very long lifespan. I figured spend a little extra now and buy myself more time until I have to replace them.

They are inaudible unless I open my canopy and poke my head in. I planned on and mounted them vertically, but these particular fans will make noise if mounted horizontally.
