alright so i just got some base rock in. it has the green and pink corraline all over it.

now im fairly positive that it cant come back to life once put in water. still figured i would ask though

so will it come back to life?

Yes it will. Get a piece from a running tank to seed with beneficial bacteria.

But what do you mean by base rock? If the coraline has color you may be good to go. In my experince, coraline turns white when it dies/dries.

its supposed to be dried fiji. but yes you can very clearly make out the greens and pinks. the rock isnt covered with it, but its very clearly there

right now im just playing around with rock formations outside the tank. but if theres a chance that this stuff could live i believe ill get it in my tank asap

New coralline will in time grow on top.

I think (without having looked into it) that coralline will turn white if still exposed to water.
I have several old powerheads covered in pink that were removed from the tank, these powerheads are still as pink as when I took them out.

i know if i seed it it will grow over the rock again. just wondering if there was any chance that the stuff still there would revive

If it has been out of water long enough for the entire rock to dry solid. Then I assume no.

thats what i figured

kind of amazing that it still keeps the color though

Where do you suggest it would go? :)
I suspect when coralline is still exposed to water, the color will over time dissolve back into the tank.
