Fat/pregnant wrasse

I bought my 6-line wrasse about a month ago. I have a 50 gallon with a clown, angle, damsel, and wrasse. How do I determine if my wrasse is pregnant or just fat. I feed them every 2 - 3 days. But it looks like my wrasse has a marbel in its stomach...........

I doubt that once every 2-3 days is feeding too much. Maybe he/she has an infection.

Those starving babies in africa have huge stomachs as well but we know they are not getting fed properly. (BTW, I am not saying you are starving your fish....just that a big stomach doesnt always mean being fed too much)

You might also want to try the disease forum, they may have information about big stomachs.

If you have a strong pod population or other live foods in the tank, the wrasse will eat those as well. Does it look healthy? Is it eating when you feed? Does the stomach always look bloated or does it change size? That wouldn't necessarily mean anthing, as it could be feasting regularly, but might give a clue. I have a blenny that most always looks like she swallowed a marble, but she is always picking at the rocks in addition to feeding.

it eats everything and it looks fantastic. the color actually looks better then when i bought it. it picks at the rocks constantly. im just wondering because of the fact that it got so big so quick.

thats what I was thinking I added a leopard and its always fat cause it constantly snacks on my pods!! spends pretty much all day eating....
