Favia always feeding

I have this favia frag that always has its feeder tentacles out fully. It never closes up except when its had a nice chunk of something. Its growing , it seems to grow new polyps much the way a candy cane does. Existing polyps grow new mouths and split into new polyps. I bought it as a rescue and I think Am I giving it too much light as it is dull and faded gray teal color? Its about third of the way down under a 4 X 24 Watt T5

They like lower light, it looks ilke you have it in a high point. As for the tentacles, i think this sub species pretty much always looks like that, check it at night, 2-3 hours after lights are out, i'm pretty sure he will look different. my acans always look like what your picture shows, and my favia has his tentacles out at least half the time during the day, but at night looks much different, it inflates and the tentacles are further reaching.

Eh, sounds fine to me.

Perhaps just move him lower and feed him lots? Worst thing you can do is make it grow fast.

Also blue bulbs really help colors pop with T5's, if you aren't running blue already.
