Favia Damage? Need help identifying this.

Hi guys,
I have this favia that has been doing well until recently. Truth be told, one of my chalice corals is doing the same. It appears that there is white stringy stuff, which I believe are its internals, coming out of the tissue around the mouth of the coral. It is certainly not sweeper or feeding tentacles and only comes out after the lights have been off for over an hour.
I moved it up the water column, closer to the t5s and run the halides for about two hours. I plan on leaving the halides off for the next few days to see if it recovers.
Have any of you guys seen something like this before? Odd thing is that the chalice that I spoke of earlier is immediately next to a child colony of the same species and the child colony does not appear to extrude its internals like the mother colony.

Could be from that massive amount of cyno around it.... What are your water params at? is there a full tank shot. I'm interested to see how bad your cyno outbreak is?

That doesn't look like cyno, but it could be getting irritated by something. It could be waste, but I doubt it.

coral warfare maybe it got stung by another coral or maybe a hermit or some other tank mate injured it while crawling over it or picking at it. just some other options to look into

That doesn't even look like mesenterial filaments. :-/

Why is that favia behind it showing so much skeleton too (at least I think it's a favia)? What are your water parameters like? Have you tried dipping it?

I did not dip it but did cut out the halides for several days now. I noticed a couple days ago that both the chalice and the favia have stopped exhibiting this behavior. However, I have yet to notice them feeding. Hopefully I will see that happen tonight.

That's a small Caulastrea frag in the background I am holding for a friend while he gets his tank back in order. It crashed several days before this photo and believe it or not, what you see there is an improvement.
