Feather Duster Explosion!!!

Ive had my tank set up for about 9 months now, never bought feather dusters but did notice them on some of my LR. Thought they were cool, now my sand looks like a pineapple farm in Hawaii. Is there a way to control these? the ones in my sand have black banded tentacles.

personally I keep them because they are good filter feeders and they are good indicators when water quality is amiss.

Id need some help on taking a pic, all the pics I try to take look like crap, is there a special camera setting for this?

look on your camera for a macro setting. It should let you get close to the tank without the zoom and focus.

I'm in the same boat. My tank has been set up for over a year and then all of a sudden, i noticed about 4 dusters under a rock ledge. That was back in January. Now there is about 30 of them. They have the same black bands too.

Years ago I bought a rock with white dusters on it, they are now all over my tank and yesterday when I put on a new fixture with new actinics they have a blue hue to them. Very pretty.
They are growing up the glass and all over the rocks. I love them.

They are good filters for your tank. Some peppermint shrimp will eat every last one.
