Feather duster?

Is this a feather duster growing out of the shell of my hermit crab? Lol. If so, how rare is that? Good sign of healthy water?

That looks like a barnacle to me. Way cool which ever it is!

Although cool to watch, it's not crazy rare. If a shell sit dormant for months at a time, and a random crab or snail decide they need a new home, and bam, a walking feather duster hahahaha

That guy just added a little flare to his home bahahaha

Yeah definitely a feather duster and a nicely colored one. I have a bunch of old barnacles but never had a feather duster in one like that.

Very cool
