So I'm planning my next aquarium but before buying anything I wanted some feedback. The tank is 92 gallons, I plan on keeping LPS and later may some sps - see image below.

Here are my questions...
What size of bulkheads should I use?
Pump size & flow rate?
Can I go sumpless?
Can I go direct line to skimmer as shown?
Is this enough light
Valve locations - are they ok
What size of pipe should I be using

You really can't have a skimmer in a setup like that. I'm not sure if you're positioning the pump before or after the skimmer but either way it's trouble since a skimmer is a open system..it's not sealed so it can't hold pressure.

It will flood....

If the pump is after the skimmer..even if you got it working...will flood the first time the power goes out or the pump needs cleaning and starts to pump less.

If the pump is before the skimmer...well...all the water will go right out of the skimmer into you stand. :)

If you want sumpless you either need the skimmer above the tank on a shelf (dangerous, but technically it'd work...I wouldn't do it mind you) or you need a HOT (Hang on Tank) skimmer. There are plenty.

Other than that..you'll need a sump.

As for the other questions...bulkheads depend on the flow you require and if you go with a sump ONLY it won't be nearly sufficient for LPS or SPS..you'll need powerheads or closed loops on top of the sump. IMO...a sump is just to hide sh*t and add more water volume to your system...I get water flow from other sources.

Enjoy.

...adding....

When designing a system think about what will happen when 1 pump fails, or 2, or 3, or all of them....never rely on one-way valves either (I don't even use them).....think about how the water will continue to drain and move.

At some point the setup will reach an equilibrium, the question is if it's reached before or after your carpet is wet. :)

Yah... that's what I was thinking.

Kudos for planning it out ahead of time though. A slightly better resolution pic would be nice in the revision.
