Feeding a Ca reactor???

What are the different options at feeding a CA reactor?

Can they be gravity fed?

Can I use one of those small tunze osmolator pumps?

I could always use my peristaltic pump but I would like to continue using it for Kalkwasser top off.

I just use a Maxi-jet pump to feed my Geo reactor.

I use an Aqua Lifter, it works great, just make sure you get the pre-filter.

Green Thumb, I've had it in use fpr about a year and a half now with no problems. Like I said before just make sure you use the pre-filter. I hope this helps.

Why don't you just plumb it into your tank return with a T and a valve for cleaning?

I did this as well. Put a 1/2 inch reducing "T" in line and added a 3/8 ball valve to controll flow rate. Connected this with the 3/8 feed hose that came with the reactor (GEO) and it works great.

You may not need the ball valve, but for $4 it helps controll the flow into the reactor and made dialing in my reactor that much easier.

Yeah, I just used a 1/2" to 1/4" reducer, then a JG valve for control. Fine tuning control is accomplished on the ouput line with a needle valve

Even though my pump pushes about 5,000 GPH it won't feed the reactor when tied into it. It won't take head pressure so the water just won't flow into it.

I use a Maxijet and the valve to control the flow gets plugged up weekly.
