Feeding Acanthastrea echinata?

All my other LPS eats willingly (acan lord, plate, frogspawn, torch, hammer, trumpet) except echinata.

The trumpet and lord will open their big mouths and send out their tenticles to grab any shrimp I put near them.

The echinata however just sits there. I can have a piece of shrimp sitting over the mouth but it won't open and won't send out its tenticles. I hear they are easy to feed, but mine won't eat and I have had him for over 1month.

ANy ideas?
(at night time, I do see the mouths sending out some odd white stuff...almost like an inverted stomach. This happens every night...not sure if it is related. No I am not talking about it spitting out it's algae)

Sorry for lack of technical terms.

Are you talking about it's tenacles extending after lights out? I don't feed mine directly because they do not eat, but they are growing nicely. If it is growing and seems happy, I wouldn't worry too much about direct feeding.

This is what my acan looks like 24/7. No feeding tenticles around the peremeter of the mouth. Just what looks like inverting it's stomach out of it's mouth at night.

Hey Gomer, drop some cyclopeez in your tank bout 30 minutes after lights out, it'll eat. Make sure you have no other corals around in, they have some of the most lethal stings to other corals. Nice colony.

Sometimes they just act funny like that. Sometimes mine are fully extended, sometimes they don't have any intrest in feeding. Cyclops-Eeze usually triggers a feeding response. Give it a try.
