Feeding Detrivores

After I get my 150lbs of sand in the mail, I'm going to buy some snails and hermits, among other things. I probably won't add any fish for at least a few weeks afterwards. With 120lbs of LR, do you think my tank will be able to provide enough food for, say, 12 snails? Will I need to feed them? If so, what?

Type of snails.But still no. You want tank to cycle first then add a a little mixed batch then wait and add a fish or coral then wait and add a corla or fish then wait and more CUC.You can adjust the needed CUC and give the tank to balance out.

Well, the snails will be herbivores, but hopefully they'll keep away from my macros.

The tank has finished cycling.

What is CUC? Clean Up Crew?

I'll be getting a package of many inverts from IPSF, so I can't slowly add them one by one. However, I could buy macroalgae beforehand. That would probably reduce the impact of the inverts on the system substantially.
