feeding favia...question

I have been feeding my favia mysis, but it is very difficult to feed it and it is nto doing great.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've never directly fed my favia.I don't see a mouth that's big enough for mysis.I imagine they just eat out of the water column.

I feed mine 2x per week,use homemade food [blender chopped salmon,clam,masago...anything else at the market that looks good].Wait till dark and til the tentacles are out,current off and I use a syringe and tube to lightly dust it . Bought mine as a "feeder coral"[it was in bad shape].I've hade it a year now and it not only recovered but has a big blob on the side where it is growing a baby.

I've never fed mine directly either. It's doing real good without it.

I have had some die off and it does not look very healthy.

I have it mid way up the tank (24g aqua pod) under a 70w metal halide.

I have a crocea on the sand bed that is doing great under this lighting.

what will flow actually resolve?

are you running the stock pump on your AP?Most people are replacing it with a MJ 9-1200 from the gate.

Favia tend to prefer lower light..and flow for that matter(I was just wondering about yours)

Are the edges just receding or is there a white decay where it's receding?Either way,a Lugols dip wouldn't hurt.If it were mine,I'd try lowering it and or shading it after a dip.

I have some daeth around the edges and almost a lighting bolt of death down the center. It just seemed to receed.

what is this dip you are talking about and what does it do

I feed the tank blender mush, and the favia picks up whatever floats by that it can fit into its mouth.
