I always feed mine cyclopeeze, frozen brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and a reef blend mix. To get the best growth, spot feeding is always best because the coral gets the most food... as opposed to just throwing it in the tank and letting the coral catch what it can.
HIGH lighting isn't a REAL priority...especially if you feed often (I feed twice or more a week). But lighting is always an important factor because of the zooanthallae inside of the corals tissues. My tank has been LPS dominated for 6 years, and I believe that the best factor for growth and reproduction (splitting) is direct feeding and also water flow. I think that high water flow helps to increase the calcification in the coral and my Euphyllias have always split much faster with higher water flow. Just remember that you don't want it directly at the coral or so much that the coral can't open all the way or feed properly. It just seems that more water flow is better than less. Especially because the water flow also carries away the slime that the coral creates (which if this didn't happen, the coral would die).
