Feeding LPS

I want to feed mysis shrimp, but would it be ok to feed grocery store shrimp? I would chop it into tiny pieces before feeding tiny bits, not the whole shrimp lol.

Thoughts?

Be careful unless you can trust the guy behind the counter. It can be treated with a variety of different things.

I've also read that it can be high in phosphates. I know when I fed it to entice a trigger to feed I had more algae on my glass than usual.

I've done it before and didn't have any issues. The guy behind the counter will look at you funny when you ask for just 1 shrimp though. :)

I just fed 1 tiny piece of shrimp (each piece as big as the corresponding mouth) to my 3 headed torch. 2 hours later, I noticed my skimmate is much thicker. Raw shrimp must have all kinds of phosphate and other organic waste.

I last count on how many times that's happen to me.

Mee too. LOL. I used to go to the store and get 1 or 2 big scallops or a couple shrimp for my lta and they would just give it to me for free half the time (beats the price of silversides). I allways had to tell them what it was for when they gave me the look.
I never had algea or any other problems. My lta grew around a foot and a half in diameter so I had to trade him in. Should not have gotten that for a 29g. 5" - paid $45 1.5' - $16 store credit.
