Hi, I have not had seahorses before, but I just bought 3 from a local breeder. I didn't know anything about their care, but I have learned a bit. They are in a 34 gal cube which has been cycled for months but only had hermits, pepperment shrimp, and coral. I now have the temp at 72 (through the use of an overhead fan). I have reduced the flow by aiming the powerheads towards the top of the tank. I added sticks for the seahorses to wrap around. The seahorses are Erectus (red color) and were born the end of April. I have a tall clear plastic container (the quart soup type) with a hole drilled in the bottom and a stick through the bottom and I use a plastic tube to pour the mysis to the bottom of the container and the seahorses eat from that. How long can I leave the food in the container? I understand that seahorses need to continually eat, so I will feed once or twice a day, and just leave the mysis in there so the seahorses can eat whenever they want..(kind of like my self-feeding dogs)....Is this a good idea? I will rinse the container out before adding fresh mysis. I will feed 1/2 cube at a time since they dont seem to eat much at all. Thanks for your help!!!
